Full Job Description

Pocklington School seeks to appoint an outstanding, experienced and well qualified instrumental teacher who will teach Electric and Bass Guitar to a high standard to our Prep and Senior School Pupils and share in our aim of forming the whole musician. The successful candidate will have a passion for music and be able to inspire and motivate our pupils to achieve their full potential and perform to a high standard.

This is a self-employed role where the teacher will invoice and receive payment from parents directly. There may be the opportunity for additional paid work for assistance with co-curricular ensembles and performances in concerts and other music events. All self-employed teachers are responsible for organising their own teaching timetable but are supported by the Music Administrator where necessary. Self-employed music teachers will work alongside the Director of Music and departmental team.

It is envisaged that approximately 2 hours per week during term time is required, with the potential for growth. The lesson rate is set between the self-employed teacher and parents although we signpost parents to the Musicians' Union minimum hourly rate of £40.50 per hour as a guide.
