Full Job Description

BBC Studios now have an exciting vacancy for a Senior Experimentation Analyst within our award winning International News division. You will lead and manage complex A/B tests, multivariate tests, and experimental projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the experimentation strategy and generating actionable insights from experimentation results. This position requires a deep understanding of statistical methods, experimentation methodologies, and the ability to mentor and guide junior analysts.

Reporting to the Lead Experimentation Analyst this is a full-time hybrid working position based in London., The Senior Experimentation Analyst role involves leading and managing complex experiments, providing guidance to junior analysts, and playing a key role in shaping the experimentation strategy. It requires more experience and expertise in statistical analysis and experimentation methodologies compared to junior positions. The Senior Experimentation Analyst is an experimentation specialist at their core and understands not only about controlled split testing but quasi-experimental design and causal inference.

  • Lead and manage the planning, execution, and analysis of A/B tests, multivariate tests, and experimental projects.

  • Maintaining the Experimentation Team GitHub and codebase within the Data Science repository.

  • Builds and maintains tools and techniques within the team and runs training sessions with analysts across BBC Studios.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define experiment objectives, success criteria, and target audiences.

  • Collect, clean, and analyse data from various sources to assess the impact of experiments on key business metrics.

  • Develop and communicate actionable insights and recommendations based on experimentation results.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of experimentation processes and findings.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to both junior and mid-level Experimentation Analysts, helping them grow in their roles.

  • Drive innovation in experimentation techniques and contribute to the evolution of the experimentation culture.

  • Actively participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to data and experimentation.

    Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., statistics, data science, economics).

  • Extensive experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R).

  • Expertise in statistical modelling, hypothesis testing, quasi-experimental design, causal inference and experimental design.

  • Proven track record of delivering impactful insights and recommendations from experimentation projects.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.

  • Relevant experience in experimentation or data analysis.
