Full Job Description

  • To make deliveries using a transit van in an accurate and timely fashion to customers. A degree of manual handling is required.

  • Support the store when there are no deliveries., Accurately process and deliver orders to our Customers

  • Sustain and improve sales performance and customer satisfaction relating to the branch

  • Accurate collection of payment from Customers, this may include handling cash.

  • Be an ambassador for the Company and promote good customer relations and service

  • Ensure all established procedures are adhered to

  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate and liaise verbally with co-workers, supervisors and managers to optimise department performance

  • Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance and adherence to relevant Health and Safety procedures.


    • Duties include but are not exclusive:
  • Processing paperwork accurately

  • Pre-start checks on the vehicles and report any faults

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicle

  • Communicating with other departments as necessary

  • When not on delivery assist in the Branches on:

  • performing selling and customer service activities competently

  • Maintenance of the hygiene of the branch.

  • Stock control and replenishment of goods

    Clean drivers licence and a good knowledge of local geography

  • Must be numerate and literate as will be working from written instructions

  • Forklift truck experience would be an advantage

  • Must be flexible with regards to start times and days to cover holidays and training

  • Good communication skills are essential

  • Ability to work under own initiative is important

  • Clean driving licence

    H G Gladwell & Sons Ltd was established in 1912 and now manufactures and distributes a range of pet food and pet related goods. These finished products are in bags or boxes which weigh up to approximately 25 kg.
