Full Job Description

· A Quarry Operative is responsible for performing tasks related to the extraction, processing of Welsh Blue Pennant sandstone into a variety of products.

· The role requires physical labour, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to operate machinery and equipment under the supervision of quarry management.

· After training, to operate a Steinex Cropper safely, efficiently and professionally.

· As part of a cropping team to produce cropped walling products, bags and specials to customer demand. To assist other aspects of production when required.

· Complete schedule tasks as outlined at the daily meeting by the Supervisors.

· Ensure accurate daily time keeping, production schedules, and housekeeping.

Ensure that you are working in a safe manner according to the method of working, following all Health & Safety procedures.

This includes:

· Being responsible for the safe working practices during the operation of machinery.

· Ensure good housekeeping of your working area and follow the Daily maintenance procedures.

· Ensuring the Quarry Supervisor is informed of any consumables/PPE that have wear or require replacement.

· Ensuring that the Personal Protective Equipment is in working order and worn properly according to HSE guidelines.

· Report any breakdowns, repairs, or maintenance requirements to the Quarry Manager/Maintenance Supervisor as soon as they occur.

· Ensure all maintenance logs for plant & machinery are filled out correctly and are handed to the Supervisor daily.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, a team player, enjoys physical activity.

Ideal candidate would have previous experience in the mineral extraction or construction industry. Pay dependant on experience.

7.45am - 4.30pm Monday to Friday

7am-12pm Saturday overtime is available based on needs of operations.

Flexibility may be required due to operational requirements.
