Full Job Description

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the focus of the QA Technologists role is to ensure all products manufactured are safe, legal and meet agreed internal and external specifications on a daily basis.
This includes carrying out a number of daily, weekly and monthly duties, collecting data and analysing, root cause analysis (including customer complaints and factory day to day issues.)
As part of your role, you will be expected to support the Quality Manager to instil a quality culture throughout the site, supporting the operations team to help deliver the overall site objectives.
Other key actions will be but not limited to:

  • Carrying out all QA related tasks efficiently, and in a timely manner, ensuring that all tasks that are allocated to that shift are completed on that shift

  • Developing a quality culture throughout the manufacturing site by supporting the Quality and QFS manager and site team to continuously improve against standards

  • Supporting the delivery of site technical KPIs

  • Carrying out daily paperwork auditing and spot checks online, and a documented and effective shift handover

  • Supporting operations in relevant corrective actions to ensure any consumer or customer dissatisfaction is addressed

  • When necessary, raise non-conformances and product recalls, communicating to all relevant parties accordingly

  • Carrying out internal audits, GMP audits and risk assessments

  • When necessary, assist with in supplier meetings/audits

  • When necessary, assist with in NPD trials and aid the NPD and Technical team when carrying out trials/ new kit installation

  • Send out weekly and monthly summaries

  • Maintain the reel room rejects reporting back to the Raw Materials Technologist

  • Durability assessment - weekly check to ensure that all products used on site are within their allocated date and raise NCRs as required

  • To carry out glass and hard plastic checks monthly and 6 monthly

  • Undergo project work as required and in a timely manor

    Good standard of education (numeracy and literacy) either GCSE English & Maths (Grade A-C)/equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience

  • Food Safety Level 3 (Desirable)

  • HACCP Level 3 (Desirable)

  • Experience using computers, particularly Microsoft Packages (Excel - pivot tables), downloading photographs

  • Willingness to undertaken training in pest awareness, chemical handling, allergens and internal audits
