Kirklee's Involvement Network is over 25 years old. It is an established selfadvocacy
group for adults with a learning disability across Kirklees.

We are looking for passionate people who believe in equality, enjoy working
with people who have a learning disability and want to make a difference?
Experience is helpful but isn't essential. Having the right attitude is.

Self advocacy is the ability to speak up for yourself and say what is important to
you. Self-advocacy is knowing your rights and responsibilities, so you decide
what is right for you and can help say what might make things better for others.
Self-advocacy can make a difference more effectively by working as a group.

Working with the Kirklees Involvement Network you will use your excellent
communication skills, understand how to support people with a learning
disability and have positive attitude to support groups of people with a learning
disability. You will help to arrange and attend meetings both in person and

online, enabling people to connect with each other and other professionals and
do the work that has been decided by the self-advocates.

You may also be asked to attend meetings or events on behalf of KIN and
support self-advocates to be heard and included.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work for an excellent advocacy organisation,
within a small and experienced team.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training
to develop new and existing skills
