What this role entails
The purpose of this role is to To lead the industrialisation of a novel bioprocess platform. Evolving laboratory scale equipment to deliver a pilot scale demonstration of cultivated protein manufacture using Cellular Agriculture's cell culture platform. Working with and leading colleagues from across a range of disciplines, internal and external to the company. Managing a team to ensure high quality and timely delivery of the collective duties and responsibilities. Making a positive contribution to company culture and community.

Objectives
Lead projects to create functional and ideally novel ways to integrate of USP and DSP at pilot scale and beyond
Lead the translation of the underpinning process design, from R&D to commercialisation
Translate tissue engineering discovery and inventions into an industrialized/manufacturing demonstration setting, with optimised cost and environmental impact performance.
Lead and manage the development, implementation, and integration of safe, robust, and efficient unit operations, through design, build, commissioning, and testing stages underpinned by a deep understanding of process development engineering
Continuous improvement including oversight of advanced process control and feedback to the R&D programme

Demonstrable industrially relevant experience in bioprocess development.

Sustained track record of successfully delivering practical design, build, and commissioning/operation of bioreactors and/or separation units

2) Delivering for an organisation

Demonstrable track record as project manager for successfully delivering complex R&D/scale-up/tech-transfer assignments in the biotechnology or food industries, with demonstrable financial returns.

Experience in delivering complex, end-to-end, world-first bioprocess solutions
Highly experienced line manager, with demonstrable success of dealing with several challenges across all stages of a career.

Excellent interpersonal skills, communication style and team working
Ability to collaborate for the successful delivery of milestones
Ability to effectively supervise and support a diverse team
Ability to acquire, document, and share knowledge., PhD or equivalent in bioprocess engineering, biochemical engineering, biology, chemical engineering, or related scientific field.
Experienced with tissue engineering systems or a demonstrable ability to apply knowledge to such systems.
Has lead aspects of pilot equipment development, preferably in areas such as fermentation, hygienic/aseptic operations, downstream processing, membranes, or emphasis on process control

Desirable:
Knowledge of CFD or process modelling tools
