Oasis Family Support Practitioner

This is an exciting time for our organisation. As part of our growth plan and our continued delivery of key support services, we are recruiting to our Oasis Family Support Project. The Oasis Family Support team provide personalised and whole-family information, advice, and emotional support for children, young people and adults in Lincolnshire whose lives have been, or are being, negatively impacted by a family member or loved one's use of drugs or alcohol.

The provision offers a range of interventions that support individuals to understand the impact of drug and alcohol dependency; develop coping strategies; facilitate access to peer support; access services such as debt advice, domestic abuse support, bereavement support; understand how to support someone in treatment and recovery.

The Oasis team also supports children aged 5 to 18 across Lincolnshire, who are affected by the substance use of a family member, usually a parent. The service receives referrals from schools, Children's Services, and families. The provision works one to one with children to provide advice, information and emotional support. We aim to build resilience to enable the children to better cope with the situation they find themselves in, engaging other services as appropriate. Staff will also support children with safety planning and to understand the substance use of their loved one. All support is delivered in an age appropriate way. We also arrange respite activities for children during school holidays.

Practitioners will need to attend multi-agency meetings, sometimes taking on the role of 'lead professional' as well as engaging with safeguarding processes. Full training and development will be provided so that the successful candidate will be able to provide relevant independent advice and guidance to children and young people accessing support.



The successful person will use their skills and knowledge to determine levels of support required, plan and utilise age-appropriate resources and activities, review progress, manage own diary and caseload, keep timely and accurate case files, and collect evidence required for contract monitoring. Our Oasis Family Support Practitioners will work with both children and adults to support them through their loved one's use of drugs or alcohol.

We would also like to think that you are passionate about our five core values and can demonstrate this, Candidates will also have a minimum of NVQ4 Advice and Guidance or a willingness to work towards this qualification after conclusion of a successful probation period., Candidates will have the right to work in the UK, a full, valid car licence will be required and access to a vehicle including insurance for business use to be able to travel throughout the area.

Up to £16,147 a year - Permanent, Part-time,

• A trainee salary scale is also available £22,230 and a salary of £23,461 for those with a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
