Move More Support Instructor - Self employed

Instructing and supporting the Lead Instructor to instruct groups of older adults in a Falls prevention programme over a 25-week period, either face to face or digitally. Teaching to groups but adapting movements in accordance with individual abilities, ensuring the health and safety of the participants at all times.

Collecting personal information for health questionnaires, assessment forms and healthy coaching conversations, setting goals, reviewing individuals and feeding back to the team.

Preparing for the session, using the session plans, setting up the register, room, refreshments, completing the online register, recording homework and updating the iCareiMove managers.

This is a self employed position, responsible for:

Preparing for and delivering the Move More session

Working with the lead Instructor and overseeing the volunteers involved in the Move More sessions

Duties:

• Keep updated on the relevant sessions, ready to deliver.


• Support the lead Instructor with the following, stepping into the role when required.


• Risk assess the venue on entry, every time you visit, and prior to participants entering.


• Risk assess the participants prior to starting the session using visual and verbal communication.


• Meet and greet the participants so that you know if there have been any falls, trips, changes in health or medications prior to the session starting.


• Deliver the sessions to the groups with support from another Instructor and Volunteers.


• Close down and clear away, ensuring the venue is left tidy and as it was when you arrived.


• Ensure security of sensitive information if carrying forms and Health questionnaires by keeping it in a specific folder and stored as per instructions.


• Report back to iCareiMove team re registers, any incidents, near misses and feedback.
  
  Level 2 or higher fitness qualification


• Previous experience of teaching exercise programmes


• Essential Experience:


• Exercise or medical background


• Working with or wanting to work with older adults


• Must have own transport for face-to-face courses


• Must have own insurance - to be discussed


• Be willing to undertake the Move More falls prevention training (fully funded)


• Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check and First aid training (fully funded
