Full Job Description

Joining the LevertonHELM as a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, your role will be focused on supporting the production team.
This is a hands-on role and you will be involved in spending time around all plant, covering long distances, climbing ladders, working at heights and accessing confined spaces.

You will have a wide variety of responsibilities, as part of the role you will:

  • Assist the Engineering Manager and Chemical Engineers with new engineering/mechanical developments and implementation including production methods, process flow, selection of machinery, equipment, components, fabrication and tooling

  • Be responsible for preventative, reactive and scheduled maintenance regimes of plant equipment

  • Assist/lead on new engineering/mechanical projects including new installations, modifications to existing plant/processes

  • Assist the Production Manager in the efficient and safe operation of the production plant and equipment, including production process troubleshooting

  • Maintain stock of components, fittings, spares, fasteners and liaise with the suppliers in order to obtain these

  • Prioritise health & safety and risk assessments


  • The training you will be getting

    As a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice, you will be studying a Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship. Throughout your apprenticeship with LevertonHELM, you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach.
    Your Level 3 programme will include, a level 3 Engineering work-based qualification delivered by PETA, and day release for 24 months to complete a level 3 BTEC technical certificate.
    Overall duration 48 months.
