Full Job Description

BCA Logistics (BCAL) is looking to fill a position for a Driver Planner / Coordinator with the primary focus of the role not only to manage the day-to-day activities but to also assist our driver resource out on the road, to ensure that key operational targets and service levels are achieved and maintained.

As a Planner coordinator, you will be driven, hardworking with a passion to succeed and for helping others. The successful candidate for this role will have a strong understanding of the company's operating procedures and be well trained in our customer SLA's, Processes and deliverables which will be critical for offering quick and accurate assistance to drivers.

The role would be office based located at BCA Logistics, Solihull, Birmingham

Main Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our team of drivers

  • Working closely with the drivers to ensure as a team we deliver a 5-star service that exceeds customer expectations

  • Building a successful working relationship with the drivers enabling ongoing coaching and development

  • To be aware of individual drivers' skills, abilities as well as customer requirements when allocating drivers

  • Liaise with recruitment to ensure driver coverage is at optimum levels and to discuss recruitment requirements as well as leavers

  • Taking inbound and making outbound calls to the drivers

  • Troubleshooting any issues that have may have occurred

  • Liaise with the Planning Team to ensure each journey goes smoothly

  • Provide accurate and proactive updates to the Customer Service Team

  • Provide out of hour's emergency cover on a rota basis

  • Respond to emails from team members, other departments, and key stakeholders

    Excellent UK road and transport network understanding

  • Confident to communicate with all team members

  • You will be highly organised and have the ability to multitask

  • Problem solving skills

  • Able to quickly establish good working relationships

  • Must have good interpersonal skills and be reliable

  • An ability to work alone and as part of a wider team

  • IT literate with strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and in house derived systems
