Surrey & Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust are seeking to appoint a full time Locum Consultant Physician in General Medicine to join an enthusiastic and established team of 4 Consultants on the short stay units at East Surrey Hospital and to work in partnership with other Specialist Medical teams throughout the trust., For further information, please see the attached trust job description and person specification for a full list of duties and responsibilities.

The successful applicant will form an expanded team of 5 full time equivalent Consultants in General Medicine taking it to full establishment and will be based at East Surrey Hospital. The service have been developed significantly over the last four years from 18 beds to three full general medicine wards with total beds of 76 and its' onwards development is in line with RCP guidance across the trust. Opportunities for special interests are available within the job plan including speciality clinic; Diabetes and endocrinology, Infection Disease, Rheumatology, Oncology and Ambulatory Emergency Care, Point of care ultrasound and Education.

+ We provide a range of outpatient, diagnostic and less complex planned services at The Earlswood Centre, Caterham Dene Hospital and Oxted Health Centre in Surrey, and at Crawley and Horsham Hospitals in West Sussex.

For part time roles you will receive a pro rata'd (proportional) salary payment based on the appropriate pay step/point and hours worked in accordance with AfC and all medical and dental terms and conditions.
Surrey and Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust operate a 24 hour 365 day a year service and all nursing, clinical and operational roles will require staff to work 24/7 shifts (if required) unless you are specifically advised otherwise as part of the recruitment process.
