Full Job Description

  • Working days, totalling 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

  • However as the site operates 24/5, there may be occasions where working hours will need to be adjusted to support the site

  • This is a standalone HSE role for the site; however the role will also be part of the wider UI HSE team

  • The site has roughly 150 team members

  • The role is to ensure the Company meets its statutory obligations in all areas relating to health, safety, welfare and environmental, in line with the relevant accreditations which the site holds, Advising and supporting Managers at Plymouth with issues relating to HSE

  • Ensuring any statutory training is completed and records are updated

  • Promoting HSE and raising awareness at all levels of the site, including proactively actioning current and emerging health & safety issues, whether legislative or best practice; plus proactively supporting the H,S&E culture of the site

  • Establishing legal compliance for risk assessments, drills, inspections, audits, checks and regulations such as LOER, PUWER, COSHH and ensuring these are actioned and documented

  • Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements are implemented

  • To hold and be accountable for site Health & Safety meetings and to ensure any actions are completed within a safe and timely manner

  • Ensure site reports; H,S&E Committee meetings; Safety Management Review meetings are completed and communicated with the relevant stakeholders

  • Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments, method statements and RAMS (from contractors) for all work equipment and team members including welfare and mental health

  • To work as a team to help complete and action any KPI's for your team and site, At Olympus, we have a dedicated in-house Talent team that cover all areas of the business.   • To hold a nationally recognised Health and Safety Qualification

  • To hold a NEBOSH Environmental Certificate

  • To be COSHH Trained

  • To have at least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role

  • To be familiar with PUWER and LOLER assessments
