Full Job Description

This position is for someone who wants to learn the way of hospitality & be trained to the highest standard within a front of house operative role.

On a day-to-day basis you will be learning & trained to do the duties below;

  • Set up the restaurant for the day or evening

  • Make sure menus are printed & up to date

  • Learn how to host & seat guests

  • Learn how to take orders

  • Carry drinks & food to the correct tables

  • Learn how to use the tills

  • Depending on age, apprentice may learn how to make cocktails and how the bar works

  • Close the front of house down at the end of the night

  • Learn to cash up (supported by the on shift manager)

  • Help and support the weddings & events team

    This apprenticeship will be completed by working 4 days per week onsite with the employer, learning the job role and gaining valuable work experience, and then 1 day per week attending Derby College to complete coursework and assessments.


  • English and Maths Functional Skills may be completed alongside the apprenticeship if necessary, however, passing this will be mandatory to receive the apprenticeship qualification., GCSE or equivalent English (Grade E/2 or above) Essential
    GCSE or equivalent Mathematics (Grade E/2 or above) Essential

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
