Full Job Description

  • To co-ordinate patients throughout their Endoscopy pre-assessment pathway, working as part of the screening and pre-assessment team, with a high level of input into the management and care of patients prior to admission for specified procedures.


  • To participate in the development, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of pre-assessment service policies and protocols


  • To act as a resource and to provide education for patients and health care personnel,


  • To coordinate the booking of procedures requiring anaesthetic support.


  • The post holder will provide a pre-assessment service for Colonoscopy patients


  • In addition, the pre-assessment service is developing to provide a service for patients requiring therapeutic endoscopy procedures to include Barrett's Surveillance, ERCP and deep sedation patients requiring anaesthetic support.


  • We are a 3 room endoscopy department providing 9,000 diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures for the population of Dorchester and surrounding areas.

    We are fully JAG accredited and expanding our clinical endoscopy team to meet the needs of local people.

    The county town of Dorchester is situated in the heart of Dorset and the Jurassic coast with stunning beaches and countryside surrounding the town.

    The Endoscopy consists of three Endoscopy You will co-ordinate patients throughout their Endoscopy pre-assessment pathway, working as part of the screening and pre-assessment team, with a high level of input into the management and care of patients prior to admission for specified procedures.

    You will need good knowledge of computers and hospital systems

    Good understanding of JAG and GRS standards and accreditation

    Administer and prescribe bowel cleansing medications under a PGD or Non-medical prescriber, Disability Confident
