Full Job Description

At YMCA Humber we support young people through a range of youth work approaches, providing much needed group work and sports development activities. As we expand our Youth and Sports Provision we are now recruiting enthusiastic and talented individuals who hold a current Sports Coaching Qualification.

You will join our team reporting in to the Head of Youth and Community Services, facilitating a range of centre-based work within the East Marsh of Grimsby and beyond.

Our weekly Youth offering includes both daytime and evening sessions, education and physical activities with a key focus upon sports and activities across all genres.

Our current provision includes:

  • Facilitation of school holiday activities.

  • Promoting YMCA sports activities through targeted school sessions.

  • Delivery of programmes in community settings.

  • Supporting young people's personal and social development.

  • Facilitating the delivery of recreational sports and physical activities.

  • Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for young people.


  • With the ability to inspire, energise and motivate young people aged 5 - 18 years, you will create and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for everyone accessing YMCA Humber, and, whilst working in partnership with young people you will have the knowledge to understand their needs and tailor programmes accordingly.

  • A-Level or equivalent (preferred)


  • Experience:
  • Working With Young People: 1 year (preferred)

  • Sports coaching: 1 year (preferred)


  • Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence (preferred)

  • Pay: £27,040.00 per year

    Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
