At a glance: Salary range - The budgeted salary range for this role is set at £36,400 - £45,000 (dependant on experience) Contract type - This position is a 12 month Secondment/Fixed Term contract until July 2025 Working pattern/flexible working - We know flexible working is important to you, and it is important to us too. The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business. The Quality and Compliance team aim for around 1-2 days a week in the office to connect and on a more ad-hoc basis to attend key meetings but again, are flexible on this. Location - This role is based at our Victoria Head Office campus. Please note, any cost incurred as a result of travel to the office is the responsibility of the successful candidate. There is no travel allowance for this role. There is also a responsibility to visit our John Lewis branches /
Suppliers / Trade Shows when necessary. You will be able to claim travel expenses for these journeys. About the role: We have an exciting opportunity to join the Quality & Technical Profession as an Assistant Quality & Compliance Technologist (AQCT), for a 12 month secondment (internal) or Fixed Term Contract - FTC (external) working alongside the Product Development Technologists (PDT) and as required the Compliance and Packaging Teams. This is a great opportunity to begin to develop a career in product quality, compliance and sustainability or expand your experience within an expert and supportive team. As an Assistant Quality & Compliance Technologist, you will provide the day to day coordination of the critical activities required in support of the development & delivery of the safety, legal, quality, sustainability and provenance aspects of Own Brand products. You will manage ad hoc reporting and collation ensuring the relevant information is
available for use by the team for product compliance, development & improvement. These roles will be in support of the PDTs in Home - Softlines primarily, so an interest &/or experience in these product areas would be an advantage. Depending upon experience, you may be able to take responsibility for your own area under the guidance of a PDT. What will you be doing? Supporting the Product Development Technologist in a number of day to day activities, including: Managing and issuing user trials, collating feedback & reporting on outcomes. Supporting the product insight process alongside the PDTs collating competitor data and presenting the outcomes Supporting the coordination of the process of product compliance including withdrawals & recalls; product integrity checks and raw material compliance activity. Running ad hoc Technical & Compliance reports (quality/factory/audit/sustainability measures) working with key stakeholders to produce the report &
commentary using relevant systems. Managing surveillance testing - managing the products, testing & admin, and collating outcomes into a report. Maintaining the factory master list accurately alongside the Factory Compliance Manager, escalating issues to the Product Development Technologists Essential skills you'll need: A passion for product & product development. A customer focused mindset Strong attention to detail. Able to build successful relationships both within the team and with stakeholders. High level of both written and verbal communication along with strong organisational skills. A proactive and agile approach to your work & workload A high level of computer literacy and the ability to learn and support the implementation of new systems and processes. Fabric/textiles experience through products &/or testing/performance Desirable skills you'll have, Technical, ethical &/or supplier compliance knowledge Knowledge of sustainability & circularity in

product development, May have formal qualifications (degree or equivalent) or on the job training in a related technical field.
