Full Job Description
Post: Part-time Assistant Games Teaching post at The King's School, Witney, Oxfordshire; six hours per week (Wednesday and Friday afternoons)., An independent Christian school (3-16) run by Oxfordshire Community Churches, We are looking for a part-time Assistant Games teacher, working in our secondary school. There may be additional ways to contribute to other areas of school life, including our after- school activity programme, and further suitable opportunities should they arise, for which renumeration may be available
The successful candidate will be an excellent practitioner, flexible, and servant-hearted. The candidate will be able to build upon the successes of the past, maintaining the distinctive quality and tone of the school, and will be able to work as part of a strong staff team in line with the vision of Oxfordshire Community Churches. It is therefore a genuine and determining occupational requirement that the job-holder must be a committed Christian willing to work with others in the context of OCC's ethos statement.
Expected Roles
- To deliver Games lessons to secondary pupils
- To develop pupils' sportsmanship skills, performance and abilities in a range of individual and team sports
- To maintain a high standard of pupil behaviour and involvement in Games
- To report to parents on pupil attitude to Games, achievement and progress twice a year
- To help maintain Games equipment
It is desirable for the successful applicant to hold a D1 (minibus) driving qualification, although this is not essential. You will be required to attend first aid training every three years.
