Full Job Description

  • The apprentice will become a Trainee Electrician, with a view to progressing with the firm after they are fully qualified.

  • You will learn to carry out a range of electrical installations in commercial and domestic settings, including diagnosing electrical faults, testing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.

  • You will learn how to use manual and power tools to current legislative standards, performance standards and according to company procedures under the guidance of qualified employees, suited to the current level of training and development.

  • You will attend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard.

  • You will learn how to comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.

  • You will attend and fully participate in regular training and reviews with the mentor and line manager.

  • You will also be expected to undertake additional duties in line with the role, as required.

    For the full apprenticeship, candidates will complete:
  • Level 3 Installation & Maintenance Electrician Apprenticeship Standard.

  • AM2


  • For the End Point Assessment (EPA) apprentices will undertake a practical competency assessment (17 hours over 2.5 days), a scenario- based interview and a multiple- choice knowledge test.

    Apprentices are expected to attend college one day per week (term-time only) at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre., Applicants who are currently undertaking or sitting GCSEs should include their predicted grades on their application. If successful for this position, you will be offered a conditional place on the apprenticeship, subject to you meeting the entry requirements listed above. Please be aware that this is the Installation & Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship standard, and work will mainly be completed in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. The business is based in North Norfolk so candidates must be able to travel to and from this location.

    Electricians install, verify, test, commission and maintain low voltage electrical and electronic equipment. Electricians can also work on the maintenance of electrical and electronic installations. The apprentice will receive supervised experience until qualified and will be expected to work to an excellent standard of professional workmanship., Communication skills, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Team working, Initiative, Able to work independently, Able to multi-task, Able to follow regulations, Able to meet deadlines, Good literacy and numeracy, Commitment, Strong work ethic, Excellent time- keeping, Good attendance and reliable, Friendly and outgoing, Commitment to development, Responsible and professional, GCSE or equivalent English and Maths (Grade 4/ C (L2 Functional Skills)) Essential

    We are a well established commercial and domestic electrician firm based in North Norfolk and have been operational for the past 39 years. We employ a small but specialised team who operate within the local area and complete electrical repairs, installations, PAT testing, rewiring and landlord safety certificates.
