Full Job Description
- The apprentice will become a Trainee Electrician, with a view to progressing with the firm after they are fully qualified.
- You will learn to carry out a range of electrical installations in commercial and domestic settings, including diagnosing electrical faults, testing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures.
- You will learn how to use manual and power tools to current legislative standards, performance standards and according to company procedures under the guidance of qualified employees, suited to the current level of training and development.
- You will attend college and complete coursework on time and to a high standard.
- You will learn how to comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- You will attend and fully participate in regular training and reviews with the mentor and line manager.
- You will also be expected to undertake additional duties in line with the role, as required.

For the End Point Assessment (EPA) apprentices will undertake a practical competency assessment (17 hours over 2.5 days), a scenario- based interview and a multiple- choice knowledge test.
Apprentices are expected to attend college one day per week (term-time only) at the Ipswich Road campus, located near Norwich city centre., Applicants who are currently undertaking or sitting GCSEs should include their predicted grades on their application. If successful for this position, you will be offered a conditional place on the apprenticeship, subject to you meeting the entry requirements listed above. Please be aware that this is the Installation & Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship standard, and work will mainly be completed in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. The business is based in North Norfolk so candidates must be able to travel to and from this location.
Electricians install, verify, test, commission and maintain low voltage electrical and electronic equipment. Electricians can also work on the maintenance of electrical and electronic installations.
