Brentwood Communications are looking for an additional van driver to increase on our delivery and pick up of two way radios to our customers.

Brentwood Communications are specialists in communications, we work in all industries helping them with their communication requirements.

Our head office is near Chelmsford and this is where you would be based, but we also have offices in Southampton, St Neots and Dublin. We are looking to move our logistics base later this year to Wickford.

A van is provided for you for work use, this is a 40 hour week role.

Role and Responsibilities:

Transporting Goods: The primary responsibility is to safely transport goods from one location to another, ensuring they arrive intact and undamaged.

Loading and Unloading: Responsible for loading items onto your vehicle before departure and unloading them at the destination. This requires physical strength and the ability to handle items carefully.

Navigating Routes: Must be able to plan and follow efficient routes to reach destinations on time. This may involve using GPS navigation systems or familiarizing yourself with local roads and traffic patterns.

Following Safety Regulations: It's crucial to adhere to traffic laws and safety regulations to prevent accidents and ensure your own safety as well as the safety of others on the road.

Maintaining Vehicle: Regular maintenance of the delivery vehicle is necessary to ensure it operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for performing basic vehicle inspections, such as checking tire pressure and fluid levels etc.

Documenting Deliveries: Keeping accurate records of deliveries, including obtaining signatures or proof of delivery, maintaining accountability, and providing documentation to customers & employers.

Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service is important, as you may be the only point of contact between the company and the customer. This includes being polite, professional, and responsive to customer inquiries or concerns.

Communicating with wider organisation: Maintaining communication with the logistics & sales departments is essential for updating them on delivery status, reporting any issues or delays, and receiving instructions or changes to delivery routes.

Adhering to Schedule: You will be expected to adhere to delivery schedules and deadlines, ensuring that deliveries are made within the specified timeframe.

In addition to the above, when the driver is not out making deliveries, they will be expected to assist with the day-to-day functions of the logistics department, further training will be provided for this.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role.

Ability to lift and carry heavy items.

Familiarity with local roads and routes.

Excellent time management skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

DBS Certificate- we will carry this out if required

Proof of ability to work in the UK
