Purchasing Lead

The role will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager EMEA and lead our UK purchasing team to assure continuous supply of goods into the manufacturing facility including the purchasing of goods, materials, and services to meet customer demand. Taking lead role in the strategical planning of material according to usage a trends., · Identifies and works with high quality, highly competitive and capable suppliers to drive competitive edge for the business.

· Focus on reducing cost/negotiating the best deal whilst improving quality and supply

· Daily ordering of materials / arranging timely delivery based on supply chain demands.

· Ensure that all procurement activity conforms to best practice and Company ethics, principles, and processes.

· To work with the Production teams in the event of a critical supply shortage risk

· Escalation of perceived risk and actual non-conformities in real time

· Analyse data to identify problems and trends to determine areas for performance improvement (cost, productivity, demand patterns, etc.)

· Provide analysis and insight to inform the annual planning and budgeting process including creation of performance benchmarks

· Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiencies, add value, aid business performance and work towards strategy of continuous improvement.

• Educated to at least A-level; CIPS advantageous.


• Managing and monitoring forecasts


• Experience in related industries (automotive, industrial, Supplier Tier 1) highly desirable.


• Ability to learn and adapt quickly to our MRP system


• Fully conversant with MS Office software (e.g., complex Excel spreadsheets)


• Strong in continuous improvement methodologies


• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills to multiple levels of the organisation.


• Analytical, organized and numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving abili-ties


• Function well in a high paced demanding environment.
