Description Overview

In this role you will be a member of the night shift management team reporting to the Production Manager, and lead production operations at Braunton on shift and provides site co-ordination during out-of-office hours.
The jobholder's reports include Team Managers from manufacturing and packing, with total direct and indirect reports numbering approximately 100 production staff.

Responsible for achieving safety, quality, volume, cost and behavioural expectations of one's team, decision making and timely escalation relating to deviations where required.

The role includes responsibility for training, appraisals, attendance reviews, leading disciplinary investigations and supporting recruitment of the team.

Being a key position within the production team, the job holder is expected to facilitate collaboration between departments and drive continuous improvement.

Scope of the Role

-You will assure the safety of operations on shift by ensuring respect for Perrigo safety systems and influencing positively the behaviour of one's team.
-Be accountable for the achievement of quality in shift production operations, with appropriate follow up of deviations including leading QE First Responses and Investigations, CAPA, and change controls.
-Manage people and resources to deliver the production plan and meet consumer demand, while also influencing planning to ensure optimal use of people and equipment.
-Motivate one's team to meet and beat targets. These measures are defined on the scorecard and typically include safety good catches and inspections, First Time Right, achievement of production plan, changeover times, cost improvement projects, attendance criteria.
-Support the timely review of documentation.
-Lead and supports Continuous Improvement activities.
-Lead the development and implementation of a training plan for one's team which allows lines to run according to the demands of the production plan and links with / facilitates corresponding plans on other shifts.
-Plan for succession and skills replacement within the shift, and organises recruitment and people transfers accordingly.
-Assure the completion in a timely manner of one-to-one reviews, return to work interviews, appraisals and attendance reviews and disciplinary investigations for one's team.
-Facilitate collaboration and effective delivery of results on shift and acts as the site coordinator and senior manager outside of business hours.
-Manage the Production Department in the absence of the Production Manager.
-Conduct handovers to colleagues, participates in business-relevant priorities and provides shift cover when required, ideally within contracted work time or with reasonable notice.
-Undertake other reasonable duties that may be required from time-to-time to support the Perrigo business.

Experience Required

-5 GCSEs to at least grade 4 (or equivalent) with numeracy and literacy skills to at least Level 2 Maths and English.
-Competent in MS Office software.
-Working knowledge and understanding of safety principles in the workplace.
-At least five years' experience in managing a multi-function shift operation which includes engineering teams and which comprises a team of at least 50 people .
-Proven ability to deliver KPI related to safety, quality, output, cost and behaviour.
-Experience of supervision, ideally in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods environment.
-Has demonstrated consistently the company core values and performance pillars (or equivalent for external candidates) over time.
-Demonstrates clear communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
-Able to listen to and influence others.

Desirable:

-Degree level education in science based subject.
-Experience of working in a regulated environment.
-Experience of Lean and Six Sigma approach to Continuous Improvement and qualified to Green Belt or higher standard.
