Full Job Description

The opportunity: To be fully responsible for all areas of manufacture within Folding, Guillotine and Despatch. Reporting to the Production Manager you will take responsibility and accountability for your assigned Shift Team, including the shift Guillotine, & Reel Operatives along with the Shrink-wrap team. You will supervise the Operators to ensure that Quality, productivity, and efficiency levels are reached and maintained, ensuring that Operators are working to the Standard Operating Procedures and in line with current H & S legislation

How you will impact WestRock:

· Agree, produce and ensure adherence to all Productivity and Quality KPI's

· Produce all Monthly Production and Quality reports relevant to areas of responsibility

· Team brief on a monthly basis on current, and expected performance, and other relevant site and Corporation information

· Absence Management of team members including holiday planning, control & reduction of overtime

· Understand lean principles and assist manufacturing team in implementing cost reduction projects within manufacturing environment

· Performance management of team members to include annual development reviews

· Implement process improvement activities

· Understanding of customer requirements and liaison where required

· Involvement and development of site Maintenance program

· Fully investigate complaint and implement corrective actions

· Support the Production Planner and understand the basic elements of PSA, and report on any areas of concern

· Work with the Print Manager to ensure that as a team we provide the best service to our customers in terms of OTIF, and quality of product

· To ensure that all areas of responsibility retain high levels of housekeeping

· To be Health and Safety focused at all time. To identify and address any non conforming areas

· Work with HR Officer to ensure the Absence Management process is followed and conduct return to work reviews when required

· Drive continuous improvement and best practice initiatives

· Validate all data taken from SFDC and prepare reports in standard format

· Understanding of IT systems and its practical applications

· Exposure to change management processes.

· Awareness of current SHE and employment legislation/standards.

· Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

· Project management and problem solving skills.

· Numerical /Verbal reasoning skills at management norm (SHL).

· Lean thinking knowledge and understanding

· Information handling.
