Full Job Description

We're looking for a Planner to join our Kier Rail team and assist on several rail related projects across the Northwest, As a Planner, you'll be working within Kier Transportation, supporting them with all planning aspects on a wide range of rail infrastructure projects for a diverse customer base. Our projects range from major improvements to complete construction of new stations, with specialist teams, we manage complex works from conception through to delivery.

Your day to day will include:

  • Working with the project teams, develop and manage the short-term programme process, including reporting to the client.

  • Complete contract programme updates and associated narrative report.

  • Develop the detailed construction programme with the operations team (project managers, agents, engineers, and foremen).

  • Actively manage and implement a disciplined approach towards Short Interval Control and agreed reporting schedule, in line with project performance expectations

  • Develop phasing diagrams which explain a section or sections of the programme.

    Demonstrable experience in contract planning for a main contractor, including contribution to and execution of change management.

  • Experience within a civils rail project, with complex constraints and multiple stakeholders is desirable.

  • Extensive experience of using Primavera. You'll also be comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite and have robust and efficient documentation and record keeping.

  • Previous operational site delivery background is also desirable.
