The People Analytics and Insight (PAI) Directorate is part of HMRC's Chief People Officer (CPO) Group, or HR. The Vision of the Directorate is to be "HMRC's trusted experts on our colleagues at work, providing insight to unlock the potential of our people and create a thriving and inclusive workplace."

The Data Warehouse Manager role will drive the implementation of an HR data repository and oversee its ongoing development to maximise the benefits to the organisation., As the data warehouse manager, you will take ownership of the delivery and maintenance of the HR data warehouse and undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Leadership and potentially line management responsibilities, provide oversight and mentoring advice to more inexperienced members of the team.

  • Drive and oversee the delivery of plans to ensure that the objectives are clearly defined and achieved within the agreed time, cost and quality constraints.

  • Stakeholder management: building relationships and communicating effectively with a wide range of stakeholders in HMRC, balancing their priorities against limited resources and budget.

  • Act as the lead point of contact with our IT partners in CDIO.

  • Lead work on database management: monitoring performance; take responsibility for audit trails, access controls and backups; identifying improvements and opportunities to include new, or reuse and optimise existing data flows to reduce load on the warehouse and maximise benefits; undertake data profiling and source system analysis., We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

  • You can work with metadata repositories to complete complex tasks such as data and systems integration impact analysis.
