Full Job Description

We are looking for a talented Construction Solicitor to join our esteemed in-house legal team. We are making significant progress in developing our portfolio of flexible and renewable generation sites with solar and battery energy storage (BESS) operations. This role presents an opportunity for you to contribute your expertise in the specialism of construction law to help deliver our solar and BESS development pipeline as well as other development initiatives across the business.,

  • Drafting, negotiating, and reviewing construction project contracts (bespoke and industry standard forms) including consultant appointments, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts, operations, and maintenance (O&M) agreements, tender documentation; procurement contracts; service level agreements; warranty documents and performance guarantees

  • Advising on commercial and regulatory issues and risk management initiatives relating to the development and construction activities of the group and monitoring and advising on legislative and regulatory developments

  • Provision of legal support to cross discipline growth initiative teams in relation to strategic projects including M&A, development opportunities and related financing arrangements

  • Providing advice and support to our project managers and business teams on contractual issues that arise through the project development and construction process including in relation to dispute resolution

  • Assisting in the development and audit of legal and corporate infrastructure including policies and procedures and standard form contracts.

    You will have a proven track record in drafting and negotiating a wide range of construction contracts and providing clear legal advice on contract structures and the effective resolution of legal issues that arise in relation to development and construction projects. You will be invaluable at every stage of the process, working collaboratively with the project and construction teams from the initial tender phase through to project completion and operation.


  • As a UK qualified solicitor, you will have at least 3 years' PQE experience working in house within the energy sector or acting for energy project developers in private practice.

    This is a hybrid role working as a minimum of 2 days a week at Head Office in Northampton.,
  • UK qualified solicitor of c.3 years PQE + with practical construction law experience

  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills with an ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders

  • Experience working on low carbon or renewable energy projects with ability to multi-task, problem solve and balance competing priorities.

  • Be adaptable with a flexible approach and be able to manage an allocated workload as well as working effectively as part of a team

  • You have the right to work in UK and hold a full UK driving licence, You are a UK qualified solicitor of c.3 years PQE + with practical construction law experience
