Full Job Description

An exciting 12-month secondment opportunity has arisen for a new Cardiovascular Specialist Lead to work across Gloucestershire to support our ambitions around the management and prevention of Cardiovascular Disease and the priorities outlined in the NHS Long Term Plan. The role will provide clinical leadership and drive forward the development of a whole system approach to improving the detection and management of CVD risk factors across Gloucestershire., The Circulatory Clinical Programme Group has recently developed a five-year delivery plan with a focus on CVD prevention and management. To support this, funding has been approved to support the implementation of a CVD MOU with primary care, and blood pressure was identified as an exemplar theme across the Integrated Care Partnership. Given this focus, it is anticipated that this role will work with our CVD GP Clinical Leads to provide clinical and strategic leadership to the project team including PCN based CVD Champions, support on the development and implementation of all clinical and quality improvement aspects of the plan, as we work towards meeting the needs of the population.

The proposed term of the secondment is for 12 months at 15 hours per week. The role is a hybrid role with some home working and an expectation that the successful candidate will also be able to work from the ICB office at Shire Hall, with some visits to PCNs/Practices across the county.
