The Role
As Assistant Teaching Fellow in Clinical Nursing Skills based within the School of Health and Care, you will support teaching, assessment, and the development and delivery of undergraduate teaching and other core activities.
Assisting in teaching on courses at Higher Education levels 4, - 6 in relevant academic subject areas, you will deliver a variety of student learning sessions including small group teaching and marking and support students through both informal and formal communication throughout semesters, ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
Duties include:

  • Delivering teaching in a range of clinical skills across nursing and other healthcare professions.

  • Marking and uploading student marks within stipulated deadlines and preparing and disseminating both generic and specific student feedback

  • Supporting moderation and quality assurance of appropriate module assessment.

  • Using Aula and other forms of communication to facilitate excellent academic working relationships with students

  • Liaison and coordination with academic support services to ensure appropriate support for students

    Active and Live Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate subject OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honours Degree and appropriate progress to an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.

  • Master's degree in an appropriate subject, PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous

  • Willingness to acquire a teaching qualification if not already held.

    You will have the ability to demonstrate best practice in teaching, learning and assessment along with high standards in engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
    A strong communicator with excellent digital skills, you will have experience using Aula or other forms of communication to deliver student communications, assuring timely and accurate information and high standard teaching material.
    Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience supporting, enhancing and engaging in an 'active learning' pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.
    Experience facilitating excellent academic working relationships to foster student academic cohesion and a sense of academic community and belonging is required.
    As a global education provider, experience and awareness of leaners cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
