An opportunity has arisen at Clacton County High School for the role of an aspiring graduate teacher. The role would suit someone who has recently graduated and is considering the possibility of moving into the teaching profession.

The successful candidate will be considered as an unqualified teacher working within the classroom, contracted under teachers pay and conditions. They would be well-supported and mentored by experienced colleagues in the delivery of pre-prepared lessons within the graduate's subject specific knowledge base and also on behaviour management techniques. This aim is for graduates to feel supported and confident in the classroom in preparation for a possible transition onto an recognised teacher training scheme in September 2025.

  • To be an effective professional who demonstrates thorough subject specific knowledge, that he/she can teach others, take responsibility for professional development and raise student achievement.

  • Teach allocated lessons supported in the preparation for this by experienced colleagues.

  • Use area(s) of expertise to contribute to the planning and preparation of learning activities, and to plan learning activities.

  • Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all student in learning and extracurricular activities.

  • Support the teaching of a broad and balanced curriculum aimed at students achieving their full potential in all areas of learning.

  • Competent literacy and numeracy skills

  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, prioritising workload

  • Empathy for others, exercise tact and be diplomatic in sometimes difficult situations
