Full Job Description

Coltech Precision Engineering Ltd are looking for an Apprentice CNC machinist to complete a Level 3 Machining Technician apprenticeship.

The ideal candidate will have a knack for precision and a passion for technology. As part of the manufacturing unit, the candidate will operate CNC machinery to produce parts to high specifications and oversee the full cycle of production from interpretation of technical drawings to the final quality check. The role will be pivotal in enhancing the organisation's operational efficiency and output quality.

Role & responsibilities

  • Programme, set up and operate CNC machines, lathes and millers

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and design models to create parts within tolerance

  • Adjust machine settings and offsets to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high performance and reliability

  • Conduct quality control tests during and after production to ensure products meet strict standards

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment according to company protocols

  • Collaborate with other team members to optimise production processes

  • Ability to balance the demands of the learning programme and those of the working environment, As well as our experienced employees, we have a proven track record of developing apprentices, many of whom have come from some of the most prestigious engineering training facilities in the UK including the AMRC - the University of Sheffield's Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre., GCSE English language C or 4 or above

  • GCSE Maths C or 4 or above.
