Full Job Description

  • This is a fully approved, 2-year Level 3 Apprenticeship programme (Level 3 CAT A Certifying Mechanic Apprenticeship)., Apprentices who successfully achieve their CAT A licence can then progress to their CAT B Licence through the level 4 Certifying Technician Apprenticeship route.

    DHL Air are now seeking highly motivated and driven individuals, who are enthusiastic about a career in aviation engineering and wish to join their dynamic Apprenticeship scheme in September 2024. The apprenticeship is your starting point to becoming a qualified Aircraft Engineer, a highly skilled and respected profession., You will be supported throughout all phases of the programme, initially securing UKCAA Part-66 Category A modules on a fully approved course and further modular and practical training towards a Category B1.1 or B2 licence., Communication skills, IT skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Customer care skills, Problem solving skills, Presentation skills, Administrative skills, Number skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Creative, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) Essential
    GCSE or equivalent Science (Grade 4) Desired
    A Level or equivalent Any (Grade Pass) Essential
    BTEC or equivalent Any (Grade Pass) Essential

  • Initial training will be completed at a training centre (in either Gloucestershire or Luton). This stage is normally 8-10 months and Residential. You will therefore need to be prepared to be away from home for this stage. Your accommodation during this period will be provided and funded by DHL Air Ltd.

  • The initial training is "off the job" training based in classrooms, workshops and hangars and is academic in nature incorporating many exams and essays.

  • On-the-job training will then follow at DHL's Operational base at East Midlands Airport, therefore the ability to travel is essential., DHL have over 7,000 Air Freight Experts in more than 190 countries, operating with schedules on all the world's major routes, providing fast, secure, reliable air shipping no matter the circumstance.
